I woke up to a sunny day in Nagoya after weeks of humid, wet weather, and made my way to the cooler, but rainier city of Tokyo for the Tokyo International Toy Show. It was my first time at the show and I had arranged to meet up with a friend at the fair. Even though we started off at totally different stations, we somehow came to meet on the same train heading towards the Big Sight, which was the location of the fair. As we proceeded in, there were countless women heading the same way. Apparently, a popular pop star, named Jun was also being featured at another hall at the Big Site. Needless to say, we should have followed the children, not the women! The toy fair was made up of many smaller company and the big 3, namely Bandai, Tomy-Takara, and Lego. The lines up to get in were as long as Comiket! Well, that is an over exaggeration, but it took roughly 30 mins to get into each.
