When The Bell Rings

Saved by the bell, the popular teen high school drama, was a great part of my youth.  I spent the greater part of my later high school life watching the original series.  The show was originally going to be named “When the bell rings” which similarly resembles the name Higurashi no naku koro ni” (When the Higurashi Cry).  Featuring the cast of Final Destination, and a similiar plot, this spinoff, one shot, comedy piece based on Saved by the bell, was no doubt a big hit.  Warning, the video is a little Hollywood gory.

Masters (Retroactive)

We are not our own masters, we’re not even close.  The reason we exist as I have said before is the need for smaller organisms to survive, in a harsh environment.  Imagine astronauts in a spacecraft heading to some planet in a future.  However, living in a spaceship is risky, its not natural, it doesn’t come in contact with nature, and if it breaks in the slightest bit the people inside are doomed.  So what’s more important than an organic spaceship, with the ability to be easily healed by those inside, and easily protected from other more harmful organisms that may bully you.  In your organic spaceship, the most necessary processes for the life of the ship and those living in it are the factories which process the food and necessities you seek from the outside.  If all conditions are right, the needs move beyond food, even with enough food, water and shelter, the organism may form its own sense of existence.

The selectiveness of things inside the spaceship and outside bond to seek something greater. Much like when you’re poor, all you can think about is where your next meal is coming from and survival.  When you move on you seek greater things, we seek greater things, and desire feelings which allows the motivation to continue to seek the basic necessities of survival.  What need need now is to know where these limits bring us.  Dinosaurs probably grew much too big, and required too many resources, but at the same time brain function and desires much too low.  The lack of intelligence did not help the species of dinosaurs survive major catastrophes and protect its passengers.

Humans however, are on to something.  To protect our passengers who clearly want to survive, unlike our Panda mammal buddies, we use our motivation to seek, to innovate, to create fear, to predict the utmost worst disasters that can happen, but at the same time risk our lives to make life easier.  We can debate, we can feel, but that’s because over millions of years, we’ve reached the evolutionary point, that the planet needed.  However, we are also at a point where we are harming our planet, forgetting our original goals of helping it and ourselves.  Wither our planet will keep us or not is up to us.  Wither we survive or the planet waits another million if not billions of years for another intelligent being to thrive and bring the life stream of Earth abroad is up to our evolution, our intelligence and our ability to survive for the sake of our masters.

07th Expansion post Umineko

With the last chapter of Umineko no Naku Koro Ni finished @ Comiket 79, and the English patch for chapter 8 from Witch Hunt near completion, 07th Expansion has their new guns ready for you in the form of Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni The series name is a departure from the “When they cry” title featured in Higurashi and Umineko.  From insects, to birds and now to flowers.

The trailer for the new mystery/murder game, which is currently serialized as a manga, will speak for itself. The opening art for the trailer is the manga art while the first opening (below) follows the traditional 07th Expansion style. The Unforgiving Flowers Blossom in the Dead of Night, seems to be the english name the group is going with, and with Dai returning as a composer, the music is sure to be as wonderful as it has been in the previous games.  Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni Episode 1, will be available for purchase at Comiket 80 this month, from the 07 Expansion booth.  It will be available in retail stores after the Comiket event.

HMP Exhibition Displays Upcoming Mikus

Wonderfest was available to the general public for a mere fee of 2000 yen, but the Hobby Maker Product Exhibition, which takes place after WonFest is exclusive to retailers only.  Shops who deal in the rare commodities of Japanese figures, are given an up and close look at the upcoming figures that they will stock on their shelves.  Many of these stores usually order figures on a pre-order basis, in order to minimize losses, but they will sometimes carry a few extra, mark them up and hope for a profit.  Therefore, its important to know what you’re getting yourself into, otherwise you’ll end up with some figures heavily marked down, collecting dust in the back room or next to the restroom stalls.  Many stores want figures they can proudly show, like trophies as limited, and unavailable, raising their prestige and attracting customers who want a peek at what they missed.  To the interests of Vocaloid fans, there are 3 Hatsune Miku figures of interest coming out in the following months.  All of them vary from each other in very different ways.
